Blue Sky Prepaid Card- No Id or verification required.

-What is a prepaid card?
A prepaid card is a payment card that works a bit like a pay as you go mobile phone. You load it with money and can only spend what you’ve topped it up with. The card is personalised with your name, a chip and PIN and unique card number, so you can use it anywhere you see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark – in shops, on the internet, here and abroad. You can check your card balance online and via SMS. You can also view full details of all transactions online.

-How is the prepaid card different from a debit card and credit card?
A prepaid card is NOT a debit or a credit card so there is no credit application or solvency verification, even if you have poor credit history you can still get a card! When you use your prepaid card, you are spending money you have already topped up into your prepaid card, meaning all your purchases are prepaid. The prepaid card is a payment card that works like a pay as you go phone; you need to put money on it before you can use it. When you use a debit card, you are using money linked to a bank account and when you use a credit card you buy now and pay later. With a prepaid card you only spend the money you have loaded on your card.

-Do I need a bank account to get a card?
No, you do not need to have, or open, a bank account to get a card.

-Will I require any ID to complete my card application?
We don’t need to see your ID to issue you your Blue Sky Prepaid MasterCard; all we need is a valid UK postcode, your email address, a telephone number and payment. The card we initially send to you is our “Standard Limit Card”. To get access to all of the benefits of Blue Sky Prepaid MasterCard, such as Companion Cards and the maximum load limit of £3,000, you will need to send us ID later and upgrade your card to our “Higher Limit Card”. It’s as easy as pie though and there’s no extra cost, so don’t worry! Once you receive the card, if you do want to upgrade it, you can give us your driver’s licence or passport number in the My Account area of the website or simply put some copies of your photo ID and proof of address in the post. The upgrade process usually only takes a few minutes.

-Where can I use my prepaid card?
You can use your prepaid card at over 30 million retail outlets and 1.5 million ATM locations worldwide, wherever the MasterCard Acceptance Mark is displayed.

-What can I do with a prepaid card?
Receive your wages; everyday shopping; internet shopping; mail order and telephone order; topping up your mobile phone; paying bills; paying monthly subscriptions; withdrawing cash from ATM’s.

-Do you need to check my credit history?
No. A prepaid card doesn't offer you credit, so we don't need to run a credit check or check your credit history.

-How much does a prepaid card cost?
There is an issue fee, please see pricing in the tariffs and fees page. Other card usage fees apply and these are clearly detailed in the 'Fees Summary' section of the card terms and conditions.

-How do I buy a Blue Sky Prepaid card?
You can order your card from this website. You can pay for the card online using any existing debit or credit card. If you do not have a debit or credit card, you can complete the postal application and enclose a cheque or postal order. You do not need a bank account or credit history. When you apply for your card, we will ask for your name, and full UK address with a valid postcode. We need this to deliver your card. Buy a card now.

-What is the difference between a 'Standard Limit Card' and a 'Higher Limit Card'?
We initially issue you our “Standard Limit Card”, and as it requires no ID to purchase, it has a cumulative total annual load limit of £1,650. The Standard Limit Card can always be upgraded to the Higher Limit Card later, at no cost, once you supply us with some ID. You can upgrade this to the Higher Limit Card later by using the My Account area of the website or simply put some copies of your photo ID and proof of address in the post.

A Higher Limit Card requires photo ID, i.e. your passport or driver’s licence or ID Card. We will also need to verify your address electronically (if this electronic check fails we will need proof of your address, i.e. a bank/credit card statement or utility bill, within the last three months). In most cases, you can supply this ID to us online and it only takes a few moments. The Higher Limit Card comes with a maximum load limit of £3,000 (so your card(s) can never have more than £3,000 loaded onto it at any one time). Companion cards are also only available with Higher Limit Cards.
