Hassle free Paphos

Plenty of sunshine, a stunning old harbour with Crusader castle, splendid UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological sites, and spectacular sandy beaches a short drive away – it’s no wonder Paphos is Cyprus’ most popular year-round destination. This means that while you may very well be scrambling about the Tombs of the Kings on your own (fortunately, it’s not as popular as the Acropolis), come sundown you could be waiting for a table at a waterfront cafĂ©. What’s really wonderful about Paphos, however, is how ideally-placed it is for day trips to some of Cyprus’s other delights.
The striking Petra tou Romiou, better known as the Rock of Aphrodite, is one of the island’s most photographed sights; Lara Bay and its windswept headland is home to loggerhead turtles; further north, the seaside village of Latchi and desolate Akamas Peninsula are a delight for walkers and lovers of wildflowers.
